Church of the Resurrection, Pinedale Mayor Matt Murdock and the community come together each October to host the appreciation dinner as a ‘thank you’ to the Sublette County medical clinics, Emergency Medical Services, Sheriff’s Office, Unified Fire, American Red Cross and Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Rhythm of the Yuletide Dance includes an elaborate light show, imaginative costumes and dance sequences accompanied by vocalists and a live band on stage. Enjoy this sparkling night of music, including rousing dance and holiday favorites for the audience to sing along. Featuring world-champion Irish dancers and Irish musicians, embracing traditional and current Celtic styles with inspired choreography. This high-energy performance includes everything audiences enjoy about Rhythm of the Dance, wrapped up as a spectacular holiday gift!

The cost for a permit is $7.50 to $10 per tree, depending on location. Up to a maximum of five Christmas trees can be purchased by an individual for personal use.

Piernick had two veterans bring him a long narrow box wrapped in gold with a black band on one end. What was inside, he said, was more valuable than gold. The box opened, a banner proclaiming FREEDOM unfurled and was held up. Piernick spoke eloquently of freedoms without restraint – “But freedom has a price.” The black band signified the millions of men and women lost at war and as many injured, he explained.

The American Legion Post No. 47 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 4801 hosted a variety of Veterans Day ceremonies in Pinedale on Friday, Nov. 10.

This bottleneck is a top concern for mule deer managers, as this narrow segment of the migration route is critical for the passage of an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 mule deer each fall and spring.

“If it’s out there to bid on, we could be a little more fiscally responsible and local contractors could bid on projects to $25,000,” he said. “It’s a fairly reasonable number to start with.”

This week on Tuesday, Game and Fish’s biologist Ashleigh Rhea, with the Pinedale Anticline Project Office (PAPO), told board members the Sublette pronghorn herd lost an estimated 75 percent of its population.

Big Piney High School (BPHS) freshman Zavier Clifford took a step closer to achieving his Eagle Scout rank upon completion of his project to overhaul the sign commemorating BPHS state championships at Puncher Stadium to include entries for girls’ track.

Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of a 2022 Dodge Model-4500 4x4 diesel ambulance to join the fleet of emergency vehicles used by the SCHD Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The price tag for the vehicle is $287,707. EMS interim director Jen Adam had raised concerns about aging ambulances with ongoing maintenance issues at the September board meeting. Trustee Dave Bell, a member of the SCHD board finance committee, commended Adam for researching ambulances and working with the state’s lone certified emergency vehicle mechanic to ensure the new ambulance was a sound purchase. He recommended the board vote in favor of the acquisition. “We know we need to spend these funds (on a new ambulance),” Bell said. “I don’t think we have a choice.”

Sublette County service organizations have planned activities throughout the area to honor veterans and their service to the United States military next week.

“This is the first time under the WAEA that all schools (in SCSD1) are either meeting or exceeding expectations,” Harris added. “Very few districts can say that. To meet or exceed expectations is pretty phenomenal. Teachers and administrators in our district are working hard and looking at the data to ask the right questions on how to bridge the gaps.”

“Chad is going to be a great addition to the Airport Board,” said Mayor Murdock. “He has lots of experience with small airports across the region and is super committed to seeing the Pinedale Airport grow.”

The Big Piney Town Council discussed an upcoming review of its town ordinances and how the town’s code enforcement officer can be authorized to write municipal citations with possible fines.

The fun kicked off last weekend with the Halloween Children’s Carnival at the Boulder Community Center and plenty of events are planned elsewhere through Oct. 31. We’ve rounded up the following Halloween festivities in our local communities.

Continuing the conversation from their Oct. 3 meeting, county commissioners approved a maximum expenditure of $9,000 for a new bike path maintenance inventory.
