The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 183 calls from Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, including a theft, a lightning strike, four search-and-rescue calls, a suicidal person, seven vehicle crashes, 14 citizen assists, two structure fires, 27 urinalyses and 27 vehicle identification number inspections.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 207 calls from Aug. 21 to Aug. 28, including eight animal problems, 20 citizen assists, six livestock problems, a missing person, eight search and rescues, three medical emergencies, one threatening, seven traffic hazards, vandalism, one grass fire, five welfare checks and 29 urinalyses and 27 vehicle identification number inspections.

Several fines and sentences were imposed in Sublette County Circuit Court from Aug. 21 to Aug. 27, 2023.

Several new charges were filed in Sublette County Circuit Court from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20. 2023.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 214 calls from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20, including four vehicle crashes, 24 citizen assists, five animal problems, two suicidal people, a grass fire and a vehicle fire, three search-and-rescues, a theft, nine traffic complaints, seven welfare checks, 30 vehicle identification number inspections and 24 urinalyses.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 187 calls and incidents from Aug. 7 to Aug. 13, including a theft, two domestic fights, two fires, a suicidal person, child abuse, three search and rescues, six welfare checks, 16 citizen assists, 19 suspicious circumstances or accidental 911 calls, seven traffic complaints, five scams, 28 urinalyses and 31 vehicle identification number inspections.

Several new charges were filed and dispositions imposed in Sublette County Circuit Court from Aug. 7 to Aug. 13, 2023.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 171 calls and incidents from July 31 to Aug. 6, including a death, two thefts, 26 citizen assists, three crashes, one search-and-rescue, four medical emergencies, three warrants served, 30 urinalyses and 33 vehicle identification number inspections.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 220 calls and incidents from July 24 through July 30, including an assault, 11 medical emergencies, three fires, 12 vehicle collisions, two search and rescues, 23 suspicious or accidental 911 calls, a missing person, a suicidal person, seven animal problems, 25 urinalyses and 36 vehicle identification number inspections.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 215 calls from July 17 to July 23, including a death, two animal bites, eight animal problems, 25 suspicious circumstances (includes accidental 911 calls), a theft, nine vehicle crashes, six medical emergencies, 13 citizen assists, a search-and-rescue, three grass fires, 42 vehicle identification number inspections and 29 urinalyses.

On July 4 at 10:29 p.m., Deputy Garrett Lozier heard “a commotion” in the jail’s B-Pod and saw inmates William B. Sciolino and Jamison D. Finley facing each other, according to his affidavit. All inmates were ordered to lock down and Lozier walked Finley to his cell, noting red marks on his face, it says.

On July 7 at 10:56 p.m., Luna Phaedra Serrano was stopped by Sublette County Deputy Todd Morgan after a Ridley’s manager reported a woman sitting in a white Ford Ranger was harassing two teenage females while parked, according to his affidavit.

“Maybe he’s friends of Snoop Dogg,” Judge John LaBuda said.

Mahaffey will face a six-person jury trial beginning on Nov. 28.

One woman blocked out many memories of being sexually molested starting in kindergarten; another woman wasn’t taken seriously in 1998 because of her age at the time. Over the past year, both told Sublette County detectives of allegations that Robert W. McCutchan, of Pinedale, had molested them sometimes daily, took indecent liberties and exposed them to sexual acts when they were very young, records show.

Sublette County Attorney Clayton Melinkovich confirmed that on April 18 he asked commissioners for the Johnson County Attorney’s Office to investigate and if necessary prosecute “an individual who is employed by a state agency and works closely with (his) office.” A sealed charge is filed with Sublette County Circuit Court with a closed preliminary hearing set for Wednesday, July 19, after the Roundup’s deadline.

Whitman has taken the stand to testify in his own defense today.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 236 calls from July 10 to July 16, including a missing person, a death, a sex offense, eight 911 hangups, 19 suspicious circumstances, an animal attack, six medical emergencies, a fire, 24 citizen assists, a vehicle fire, 33 urinalyses and 51 vehicle identification number inspections.
