Everywhere I look I see people seemingly doing their very best to make sense of this overwhelming reality in some degree of struggle. I see this and wonder if the path they’re struggling with is truly their own, or are they stumbling along the path of others?

My perception, the way I perceive and capture by means of the senses and the mind through immediate and intuitive recognition, is derived from sensory stimulus. All that is characterized and collected passes through my perception. Perhaps there is a live possibility that who I am also exists only in your perception.

Part of our past, before the era of the devise, was the party line. It was a local loop telephone circuit that was shared by multiple telephone service subscribers. Party line systems were widely used to provide phone service, starting with the first commercial switchboards in 1878.

Those who experienced a party line recall that there was no privacy on a party line. You may have memories of talking on the telephone with a friend and recall someone picking up the receiver of their telephone and listening in on your conversation. More times than not, you would hear the phone being picked up but not put down. This was the way of news and gossip being spread like wildfire.

Big Tech has now brought it all back, kinda. We might not be able to listen to the neighbor’s conversation but don’t think for a minute that we are all not on a global party line.

The unrestrained favorable impression of oneself is determined and exaggeratedly based on likes. At what point will it be governed by likes, or has it already begun with social credit?

The plague of social media and the isolation of separation is the social credit, a moral ranking system that monitors behavior and ranks it. It’s like your private credit score. A person’s social score moves up and down depending on their behavior. This ranking is all dependent on the manipulated direction and rules of the ruling segment of the new world order. These will all be changed, permitted and governed by a fickle society. It’s going to be all about the likes and the shares.

The Chinese Communist Party has been constructing a moral ranking system for years that will monitor the behavior of its enormous population and rank them all based on their social credit. The social credit system, first announced in 2014, is now an important component of the socialist market economy system and the social governance system. The objective is to reinforce the idea that “keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful.”

China ranks its citizens based on their social credit. People can be punished if they drive badly, buy too many video games or steal. China’s social credit system ranks citizens and punishes them with throttled Internet speeds and flight bans if the Communist Party deems them untrustworthy. It's not a unified, nationwide system, but China plans on eventually making it mandatory for everyone.

The eastern Chinese city of Jinan started enforcing a social credit system for dog owners in 2017, whereby pet owners get points deducted if the dog is walked without a leash or causes public disturbances. Those who lost all their points had their dogs confiscated and had to take a test on regulations required for pet ownership.

Baihe, China's biggest dating site, is boosting the profiles of good citizens. Citizens with good social credit can also get discounts on energy bills, rent things without deposits and get better interest rates at banks. People with good scores can also speed up travel applications.

Naming and public shaming are other tactics, and the government encourages companies to consult the blacklist before hiring people or giving them contracts. “Bad” citizens are punished but the system also rewards “good” citizens.

This ranking that is being injected into the citizens of China for social credit is decided by China’s economics planning team, the National Development and Reform Commission, The People’s Bank of China and the Chinese court system. They are uniting and spraying shame on those that do not comply.

Shame is an internal feeling arising from the consciousness of dishonorable or improper, which is a derivative of beliefs, which are a byproduct of your personal beliefs. These derivatives come from the susceptibility of your influences. Perhaps the only shame is to have shame.

The social credit system is nothing short of a dystopian science fiction. China’s social credit system incorporates a moral edge into the program, which is why many have compared it to some level of dystopian governance, such as in George Orwell's “1984,” where the state heavily controls every aspect of a citizen's life.

Each time we comply we lose the freedom of choice. Each of us exists in a field of infinite possibilities. Every time we evoke choice we close an immeasurable extent of space while, at the same time, it opens unlimited durations of time. At any point we can change the purpose and orientation that serves to guide and motivate who we are. Choice is the most powerful tool that we have and we all have it.
