Peter Jesse Paulos (Pete) was born on June 14, 1938, in Long Beach, Calif., the first child of Theodore and Rubye Paulos. Growing up, he learned his lifelong love of hunting and fishing from his grandpa Banker. At age 18, Pete enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for four years as a sharpshooter, including serving in Korea.

Pete had two children with his first wife, Patty and Peter. Around this time, in the early 1960s, he fulfilled his love of travel when he began work in Tripoli, Libya. His career spanned decades and took him to Libya, Saudia Arabia, Russia, Ecuador and Peru. While working in Peru, he met his future wife, Fidelina Ponte Rodriguez.

His deep love of hunting and fishing brought him to Pinedale, Wyo., which he considered paradise. Fortunately for him, Fidelina agreed to come to Pinedale, where they lived happily for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife, Fidelina Paulos; his two sisters, Joyce Harris and Sotira Georgas; his children, Patricia Chapweske (Dave) and Peter J Paulos and he was tickled to be grandpa to four grandchildren, Michael McLaughlin, Sabrina Paulos, Najat Hockenberry and Jassim Uddin and two great-grandchildren, Ezra Garcia and Mariam Hockenberry, with one more on the way.

A graveside service and military honors were held at the Pinedale Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 23.
