Sandra (Sandy) Brewer passed from this life on Nov. 17, in Pinedale following a lengthy illness. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and many friends.

Sandra Kay McFarland was born in Cody on Aug. 13,1949, and welcomed into this world by her parents Robert (Bob) and Agnes McFarland and brother Brad. After a brief stay in Meeteetse, the family moved to Pinedale in 1951, where sisters Mary and Middy were born.
Sandra spent her childhood exploring Pinedale and the surrounding area with her sisters, numerous friends, and cousins. Some of Sandras fondest memories were of swimming in Fremont Lake, spending many hours riding horses through the wilderness and the local area. The time that Sandra spent as a member of the local Campfire Girls was a formative time of her life and she spoke of it often with the fondest memories. After graduating from Pinedale High School in 1967, Sandra went to the University of Wyoming, only to be drawn back to Pinedale to spend time with her family after the loss of her brother. Sandra met Vance Brewer the summer of 1972, and they were married that October. After making a home in Pinedale,  Sandra and Vance welcomed their first child Seth into this world in 1975 and daughter Laura Sage in 1979. Sandra began her working career in Pinedale, and she soon acquired a position at the local telephone company where her knowledge, efficiency and friendliness were appreciated by all. Sandra retired from CenturyLink in 2011. Sandra was a devout Christian giving much of her time attending church, participating in Bible studies, and sharing her love for the Lord with others. Sandra always gave credit to the Lord for her triumph over breast cancer which she was diagnosed with in 1996. Sandra was also a member of Sublette County Artists Guild and mixed media groups where she often contributed her magnificent artwork, along with many writings of her lifelong experiences and some of the local characters of Sublette County. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Agnes McFarland and her brother Brad. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Vance, son Seth of Valdez, Alaska, and daughter Laura Sage of Pinedale, four granddaughters Ashley (Laramie), Heidi, Lilly, and Sassy, grandson Matt, sisters Mary and Middy, sister-in-law Deb, nephews Tom and Eric and niece Becky.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house

are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for

you. John 14: 1-2

A memorial service and a celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
