Obituary: Laura Fay Jensen Lozier

Posted

Laura Fay Jensen Lozier was born May 5, 1947, to Lawrence and Mary Jensen of Rock Springs/Boulder. She was the third of her siblings Gary, Wanita and Marilyn.

Laura went to school at Emerson Schoolhouse in Boulder in her early years and then went on to graduate from Pinedale High School in 1965.

Laura was a special soul from day one, taking care and cooking for her dear mother Mary and family at a very young age.

She married Irv Lozier in 1966, and they had Levi in July of 1970, then they were blessed with Mary Elizabeth “Liz” in January 1976.  Laura always said the biggest blessings in her life were her kids. They went on to raise their family at the Box R  Ranch in Cora and wintered at their home on Pole Creek Road.
Irv and Laura went their separate ways in 1986.

Laura went on to pursue her passion of cleaning houses for all of her dear friends for 35 years. She was also a very proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and celebrated 27 years of being sober. She always said they were the best years of her life.

She was a natural green thumb and loved gardening; she was famous for her sweet peas and shared bouquets with everyone. She loved to bowl with friends and occasionally travel to play some slot machines. She loved animals, especially her horse “Ned,” and taking trail rides and cooking on pack trips in the Wind Rivers. She could pack a pannier to perfection. Laura cherished her many friends and especially her grandkids and great-grand baby; they were the light of her life.

She also loved cooking for friends and family and providing her amazing birthday cakes for A.A.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Mary Jensen and all three of her siblings Gary, Marilyn, and Wanita.

She is survived by her son Levi (Barbara) Lozier, her daughter Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Lozier, her grandson Garrett Lozier (Hailey), her granddaughter Bailey Lozier Guyer (Alex) and her sweet great-grandbaby Huxton Irvin Lozier.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Community Church in Pinedale, with a luncheon to follow.
The family asks the memorial tributes be directed to Alcoholics Anonymous P.O. Box 1363, Pinedale, WY 82941, or KickinCancer, www.kickincancer.org.
