Obituary: Larry Bruce Toro

Larry Bruce Toro, born in Jackson, Wyo., on Jan. 24, 1944, passed away at St. Johns Hospital in Jackson, on Oct. 2, with family members by his side. He was 79 years old. He died of complications following a diagnosis of cancer.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, August and Joyce Toro, and brother-in-law Charley Tamblyn. He is survived by five siblings, Jean Toro Smith (Tucker), Joyce Toro Tamblyn, Ted Toro (Bridget), Barbara Toro Nye (Ken), Duane Toro (Margy), and stepson Cedro.
Larry was Valedictorian of the 1962 class of Pinedale High School. While attending the University of Wyoming, Larry was drafted into the military during the Vietnam War. Stationed in Germany, he was an instructor for missile combat. After completing his Army service, he returned to the University of Wyoming, graduating with honors with an industrial engineering degree, followed by a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
Following graduation, he was hired by Mountain Bell and became their Wyoming state planner.  After retirement in 1999, Larry settled in Pinedale.
The family is grateful for all the help and support given to Larry throughout the years by friends, neighbors, first responders of the Pinedale Clinic and the Sublette County Sheriffs Department.
