Posted

Kathy Masters, 71, of Boulder, Wyo., passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 23. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Kathy was born to Charles W. and Betty L. Hunt on July 30, 1952. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyo., in 1970. She married Stan Masters on June 3, 1972; to this union two children were born, JR and Kelly. They later divorced but remained friends.
Kathy loved anything and everything about animals, including hunting and fishing, her babinies, Mr. King, Little Miss and all previous Babinies. She loved watching her grandchildren raise and show 4-H goats.
She was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan to the end, through thick and thin, win or lose, and even attended a home game in Denver. She also loved attending her grandsons football and wrestling matches in Rock Springs, Wyo. and Oregon.
Kathy and her mom owned and operated Kats Steakhouse on Main Street. They reminisced that it was some of the best times of their lives, interacting with the wonderful people of Pinedale. She was a superb chef who was also the head cook at the Sublette Center in Pinedale for many years. After her years as a chef she went on to work as a line locator supervisor for No Bull Construction. Kathy also had a wonderful camaraderie with family and friends at the Boulder Bar and Grill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Betty L. Hunt, along with both sets of grandparents and a niece, Holly Nicole Bartlett.
The thing Kathy loved the most was her family. Survivors include her two sons JR (Toni), grandchildren Gavin and Brooklyn, Kelly (Heidie) grandchildren Baily and Joe Harrower, siblings Liz Bartlett, Chuck (Terry) Hunt, Sue (Donnie) Hanson, Rosemary (Dewight) Mickey, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no services at her request. Memorial contributions can be made to Happy Endings Animal Rescue in Pinedale.
As one friend stated, Kathy will always be remembered by her mischievous smile and attitude. I will always think of her and smile.”
