Jill Mary Tegeler, born on Oct. 2, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisc., departed from this world on Nov. 30, in Pinedale.
Jill’s journey began with a passion for education, and she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in Education. Her adventurous spirit led her to Cheyenne, Wyo., where she taught at Saint Marys High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Don Tegeler, and on June 15, 1968, they exchanged vows in Milwaukee.
In 1973, Jill and Don made their home in Pinedale where Jill transitioned her career to real estate and found great success taking over Allen Agency and becoming an integral part of the Wyoming Real Estate Association. Jill’s commitment extended to community service, contributing to the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce and The Food Basket, among many others.
Her faith was central to her life, and she served in various roles at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Later, she continued her volunteer work with students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona, during winter retreats.
Jill had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and she cherished the many friendships she cultivated over the years. Her love for Wyoming was manifested in her enjoyment of hiking in the Wind River Mountains and cross-country skiing. Jill was a devoted supporter and fan of her children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events with enthusiasm and spirit.
Jill is survived by her brother, Jack Bardeen of Eagan, Minn., her son, Kelly (Denise) Tegeler, daughter, Kerry (Jay) Majhanovich, and three granddaughters, Shelbi Tegeler, Maggie Majhanovich and Mandy Majhanovich, all of Pinedale.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at Our Lady of Peace, beginning at 11 am, with lunch to follow at 42 Broken Hills Dr., in Pinedale. A Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Friday also at the Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Jill’s favorite charities, The Food Basket or Our Lady of Peace, both in Pinedale.
Jills memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and her legacy of kindness, adventure and compassion are lasting tributes to her remarkable spirit.
