James Steven Cwikla, 78, of Mesquite, Nev., passed away unexpectedly on April 21. He was born to parents John Cwikla and Eugenia (Rusetcki) Cwikla, on June 23, 1943, in Chicago, Illi.
He graduated from De La Salle High School in 1961.
James was a proud Air Force veteran (Master Sergeant USAF Retired), lifetime member of the VFW, tuba player and loved the game of golf.
He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Eugenia Cwikla, brother John Cwikla and sisters Joanne (Nick) Burik and Barbara Herbinson.
James is survived by his wife Mary Cwikla; children Travis Eckard, Troy (Claire) Eckard, Trishia (Josh) Davidson and Kimberly (Michael) Nitzenberger; grandchildren Courtney (Charles) Morrison, Jacob (Lisa Huntsman) Cordell, Jack Eckard, Mitchell (Karen) Eckard, Matthew Eckard, Jaxton Cwikla, Harrison (Katya) Nitzenberger, Sophia Nitzenberger and Madelyn Nitzenberge; five great-grandchildren; sister Judy (Rich) Anderson, sister-in-law Peggy Cwikla and brother-in-law Kevin Herbinson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mesa View Hospice and Mesa Valley Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care for the care they provided him and his family.
