Glen Edwin Alderman was born on Aug. 1, 1936, in Denver, Colo. He passed away on June 16, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Glen's parents were Fred Henry Alderman and Leah June Miller Alderman and he had three siblings: Ernest, Maxine and Fred. The Alderman family fell in love with Wyoming and moved from Colorado and settled in Pinedale, Wyo. Glen graduated from Pinedale High School in 1954. He married Denice Ruth Roberts and they had four children. After his divorce from Denice, Glen and Anita Hemphill formed lifelong bonds. He was greatly honored to have the Hemphills and Hilliards call him dad and grandpa.

Glen spent his long working life primarily as a heavy equipment operator. He took pride in his loyalty and dedication to his employers and fellow coworkers. He was happy to go to work and he could always be counted on to get the job done. He loved to tell stories of the many roads he helped build and the incredible amounts of snow he plowed. The more remote the drilling location, the bigger the pond or the closest calls building fire breaks, the better the stories were.

There was no place he would rather call home than Pinedale, Wyo. He loved the raw beauty of the deserts, mountains, lakes and wildlife all around him. Watching the deer, moose, antelope and all the other wild animals brought him joy. Horse packing, Jeep and snowmachine trips in the backcountry were adventures he really enjoyed.

Collecting classic vehicles and equipment of all sizes and functions was a passion of his. Cars, trucks, tractors and snowmachines were among his favorites.

Glen was a beloved member of the community. He was a familiar and friendly face at local restaurants, especially at the Wrangler Cafe. Coffee and conversation were always on the menu when sharing a meal with Glen. Everyone enjoyed his happy smile and ease of storytelling.

Family meant the world to Glen. He treasured the memories of sharing his life with his parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins. He always got a gleam in his eyes and a lilt in his voice when talking about them. Also, if you were his friend, you were his friend for life. Glen Edwin Alderman will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of calling him dad, brother, grandpa and friend.

Glen is survived by Fred and Elaine Alderman, Glen Alan Alderman, Diana Alderman, Keith and Deanna Bond, Christopher Bond, Dwain and Amy Hilliard, Dave and Kay MacGill, Debbie and Dave Quinton, Elaine Hilliard and Leon and Charlene Hemphill. Glen's grandchildren are Laura and Eric Bond, Conner and Canyon Bond, Debra Smith, Stacey Cutlip, Stephanie Seaman, Anita Rhodes, Tina Daniels, Cody Hyatt, Ted Schelin, Cassidy Johnson and Dustin Hilliard and many more, as well as multiple great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, starting 11 a.m. at the VFW in Pinedale, Wyo.
