First Fall Festival & Market debuts in Bondurant

Posted

BONDURANT – A number of entrepreneurs gathered under the figurative umbrella – actually the Branding Iron Café’s parking lot – for the Bondurant Art and Agricultural Market on Saturday, Oct. 7.

Lisa Robertson created the Bondurant market’s (BAAM) concept to highlight the local vendors and their personalities with monthly markets that began in September at the Branding Iron Café, owned by Jennifer and Matt Accurso, who opened last summer with coffee and homemade empanadas.

These markets have featured fresh sweet and savory empanadas and other baked goods, fresh dairy products, local beef and produce. The Oct. 7 market celebrated fall and Halloween with pumpkins for sale, a bouncy house, homemade gifts and houseplants

Saturday, the Little Jennie Ranch took beef orders and Laura Nelson, who just started her own dog treat business Ivy’s Grand Delights, sold out, although more are stocked at the Branding Iron. North Star Feeders 4-H Club raffled off a gift basket and Gary Sanders represented the Elkhorn Bar and Jackson Hole Still Works.

Kim Trefren brought her gooey “walking apples” – slices covered with caramel or white chocolate. Attractive houseplants were staged at another corner. Kids raced around the scene with their new pumpkins and the line came out the door for special beverages.

The BAAM special market schedule continues on first Saturdays of Nov. 4 and Dec. 2, either at the Brand Iron Café or at the Robertson Shop on the north end of Bondurant. Stay tuned!
