I really felt that we did a great job of wrestling that day. Judah Farrington had a great performance, bouncing up in weight and came very close to a victory. Zavier Clifford also had a big fall that helped build the lead for the team. It was a great start to the week and the team is now 8-4 on the season in dual competition.

Pinedale High School’s Nordic and Alpine skiers had a busy weekend playing in the powder in Pinedale and the Snowy Range Ski Area.

In the seventh week of prep swimming, the Sublette boys’ team saw some “crazy time drops” not often seen this late in the season, Grossman said.

Antonino received the 2023-24 award on Jan. 22, making her a finalist for the Gatorade National Cross-Country Player of the Year award, which will be announced later this month.

Events begin at 10 a.m. on both days.

The Green River tournament on Friday and Saturday was a large dual tournament. There were a lot of the best teams in the state at this event.

The seniors will instead be celebrated at 4 p.m., ahead of today’s meet against Lyman, Kemmerer and Jackson at Big Piney High School, 915 Piney Drive.

The Pinedale High School Wranglers boys’ basketball team fought hard on its home hardwood during the Pinedale Winter Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7. Pinedale’s Lady Wranglers' basketball team traveled to compete in the 3A Girls Winter Classic in Rawlins, where they beat out Worland, 51-38, and Thermopolis, 63-31.

Five Pinedale High School cheerleaders were nominated for All-State

Highlights from the weekend’s matches include Jake Hammer taking first place in the 138-pound division, McKinzie Mortensen nabbing first place in the 100-pound weight bracket and Katyana Dexter also snatching up first place in the 235-pound class.

Sublette County earned a total of 133 points against 3A and 4A champs from Lander, Laramie, Kemmerer and Jackson.

The PHS teams each tallied 21 points during the two days of competition, which opened on Friday, Jan. 5, with skiers competing in a 6.5Km freestyle or skate race. Saturday’s events began with a 10 a.m. mass start in the 5.5Km classic race.

We ended up winning the dual, 50-22. That improved our dual record for the year to 6-0.

The Sublette County Combined Boys Swim team tallied 51 points at the Kemmerer Holiday Invite on Dec. 30, taking on teams from Lyman, Evanston and Kemmerer.

Pinedale High School senior Josh Gosar tallied 1,000 career points in an away game against Kemmerer on Tuesday, Dec. 19, posting 29 points during the game to help the Wranglers defeat the Rangers, 76-48.

The Wranglers opened the season with a 50-24 victory over Rawlins on Dec. 7 and backed that up with a 68-54 win over Central on Dec. 8.

Our strengths this week were again on our feet. We have done a great job of attacking our opponents and earning takedowns. It is key for us to earn that first point and we spend a lot of time working on our feet to earn that takedown. It is paying off. I also thought this week we worked on being in a better position once we earned that take down and that was vastly improved this week.

The Pinedale Wrangler wrestling teams have had great starts to the 2023-24 season. On the weekend of Dec. 8-9, both the girls and boys competed at the Charlie Lake Invitational in Cheyenne. Both teams did an outstanding job.
