The Hoback Basin Coalition released a statement following the Sublette County Commissioners’ 3-2 vote on April 2 to approve the Conditional Use Permit requested by Jackson Fork Ranch for an industrial parking facility.
Jackson Fork Ranch’s (JFR) request for an industrial parking facility Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the structure passed. The much larger resort, a 230,000-square-foot space, and increased numbers of people and employees needed a larger parking facility to support it. However, JFR did not lay out its entire plan so that the citizens of Sublette could decide based on all the facts presented.
Some citizens were for and against the expansion. Many of those in favor had interests in the endeavors into which Ricketts had poured money. The case presented by those against, based on the regulations for turning down the request, was clear, yet the BOCC chose to ignore those facts and follow their agenda. The resort’s size will continue to grow beyond what was originally approved.
Bradley admitted that he has plans for his daughter’s wedding at Jackson Fork Ranch this year, and that is a conflict of interest, but he still voted aye.
The best action in the future is to vote at the ballot box during the next election for the candidate that will support your interests.
