PINEDALE — Members of the Pinedale VFW Post No. 4801 and the Pinedale American Legion Post No. 47 hope people won’t forget the meaning of Memorial Day in all the excitement of a long weekend. On Monday, May 29, the two veterans’ service organizations are hosting back-to-back ceremonies in remembrance of the United States military members who died in service.

On Friday, members of the VFW lined the pathways within the Pinedale Cemetery with 80 full-size American flags in preparation for Monday’s event. Members of the VFW also placed flags at the Boulder, Daniel and Bondurant cemeteries, according to Commander Ted Nelson.

Immediately following Monday’s ceremonies, the VFW will host a luncheon at VFW Post No. 1033 W. Pine St. in Pinedale.
