PINEDALE – Trap club members arrived at the Pinedale range Sunday for their weekly get-together to discover a person or persons shot up expensive equipment using several different guns and caliber bullets.
They reported the vandalism, which occurred between July 4 and July 10, to the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, which is asking the public to help with its investigation.
Sgt. Travis Bingham said multiple spent shell casings were found including 9mm, .22, .223 and .556 calibers. The damages to the pieces of trap-shooting equipment are well over $1,000, making the vandalism a felony, he said.
“It is a felony amount,” he said. “Those machines are expensive to replace.”
Anyone with information about the recent vandalism is asked to contact SCSO Detective Travis Lanning at 307-367-4378.
