SUBLETTE COUNTY – The SAFV Task Force was awarded a $2,500 grant from Southwest Wyoming United Way to help support programming for individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

SAFV would like to thank all the companies and employees who participate in the United Way, for their support and investment in helping Sublette County residents.

The SAFV Task Force is a victim-advocacy program in that has provided refuge, assistance and support to the victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking since 1983. Our confidential services are provided without cost to the individual. Services offered include – but are not limited to – crisis intervention, personal and legal advocacy, emergency sheltering, transitional housing, counseling, support groups, financial assistance, development of life skills and financial empowerment. Anyone is eligible for SAFV services if that person or their family has been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. No one will be denied services because of race, religion, sex, ethnicity, age, physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship or sources of financial support.

SAFV believes that in order to effectively reduce or prevent domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, there must be social change violence prevention program that engages our community along with the intervention services we provide for victims. The propose of the violence-prevention programming is to help raise the awareness of our services, expose the frequency and harm of the crimes, address the social norms that support attitudes where interpersonal violence is minimized if not tolerated and promote the protective factors that will lead toward the elimination of these forms of violence.
