PINEDALE – Athletes on the Sublette County combined girls’ swim team posted improved times in multiple events at the Pinedale High School Homecoming Meet on Saturday, Oct. 1, and scored a 102-71 victory against Lyman at an Oct. 4 duel in Big Piney.

Senior Lilly Joseph qualified for State in 11 dives at the Homecoming Meet on Saturday. She picked up seventh place in the event, tallying 275.05 points. Joseph qualified in six dives earlier in the season.

Senior Morgan Grossman, senior Rayne Wheeler, sophomore Alexis Thompson and junior Addy Levitt captured fourth place in the 400-freestyle relay on Saturday, clocking in at 4 minutes, 34.10 seconds.

Swimmers hit the pool early Saturday morning ready to compete, said Co-Head Coach Kelsey Harder.

“Everyone showed up smiling and full of excitement for the day,” she added. “The festivities of the weekend were enjoyed by the whole team. It was so great to celebrate Homecoming with so many wonderful student-athletes from all over the state.”

The Homecoming crowd cheered on the team in Pinedale and many team members continue to drop times, said Co-Head Coach Kursty Day.

“Catie Langlois showed great effort in her 200-freestyle by dropping 9 seconds and Jolynn Jones took 6 seconds off in the 200-individual medley,” she noted.

PHS Homecoming results

• 200-medley relay: Wheeler, Maggie Walker, Jones and Grossman in sixth place at 2:19.51 and Clairee Bingham, Addy Levitt, KaLee Bohnet and Hadlee Francis in 13th place at 2:38.93.

• 200-freestyle: Thompson in 11th place at 2:33.70, Kaylea Mortensen in 21st at 3:03.33, Alyce Hayward in 23rd at 3:06.80, Kamia Runyan in 24th at 3:08.79, Langlois in 28th at 3:25.09 and Mariaha Morgan in 29th at 3:51.06.

• 200-individual medley: Wheeler in seventh place at 2:42.76, Grossman in 10th at 2:50.01, Jones in 14th at 2:54.77 and Libby Olson in 19th at 3:16.90.

• 50-freestyle: Grossman in 15th place at 29.99 seconds, Walker in 16th at 30.19, Bingham in 24th at 34.01, Bohnet in 28th at 34.55, Bryn Arne in 31st at 36.59, Francis in 34th at 37.46 and Mya Swain in 36th at 43.25.

• Diving: Rhonda Auradou in eighth place with 263 points.

• 100 butterfly: Jones in 13th place at 1:22.68 and Wheeler in 14th at 1:23.32.

• 100-freestyle: Thompson in 11th place at 1:09.95, Levitt in 14th at 1:12.34, Olson in 19th at 1:16.25, Runyan in 26th at 1:25.78, Langlois in 29th at 1:31.66, Morgan in 31st at 1:37.30, Swain in 22rd at 1:43.99 and Evalyn Smith in 35th at 1:49.83.

• 500-freestyle: Arne in 16th at 8:10.12, Mortensen in 18th at 8:31.54 and Bingham in 20th at 8:37.42.

• 200-freestyle relay: Bingham, Hayward, Bohnet and Langlois in 13th place at 2:27.54 and Thompson, Runyan, Mortensen and Arne in 14th at 2:28.61.

• 100-backstroke: Levitt in 15th place at 1:23.60, Bohnet in 26th at 1:35.70 and Hayward in 29th at 1:41.52.

• 100-breaststroke: Walker in 14th place at 1:31.63, Smith in 19th at 1:47.56 and Francis in 22nd at 1:55.38.

• 400-freestyle relay: Arne, Runyan, Mortensen and Hayward in 14th place at 5:12.31 and Bingham, Olson, Walker and Jones in 15th place at 5:17.97.

Lyman top-three highlights

Grossman swept the competition in the 50-freestyle, hitting the finish line in 32 seconds. She picked up bronze in the 100-backstroke at 1:28.41.

Wheeler snagged first place in the 100-backstroke, finishing the event with a time of 1:24.22. She placed second in the 50-freestyle at 32.07 seconds.

Joseph captured gold in diving, scoring 148.15 points following six dives. Auradou came in second in the event with 111.75 points.

Sophomore Emma York picked up first place in the 400-freestyle, timing the long-distance event in at 6:03.23. She scooped up bronze in the 50-freestyle at 34.20 seconds.

In the 200-individual medley, freshman Shelby Scott took second place at 3:20.70. She also earned silver in the 100-backstroke, timing in at 1:26.97.

Clocking in at 2:52.83, Jones placed second in the 200-freestyle. Levitt followed in third place with a time of 2:59.65.

Arne came in second place in the 100-butterfly, posting a time of 2:02.30. Francis finished a few seconds later in third place at 2:04.17.

Bohnet bagged bronze in the 200-individual medley with a time of 3:42.30. Thompson placed third in the 100-freestyle, completing the event in 1:18.37. Smith scored bronze in the 100-breaststroke at 1:59.42.

In relay action, Grossman, Auradou, Joseph and Wheeler won the 400-freestyle relay, hitting the finish line at 5:17.66. York, Olson, Levitt and Thompson came in second in the event with a time of 5:34.62.

Bingham, Wheeler, Francis and Olson captured silver in the 200-medley relay at 3:05.18.

Joseph, Levitt, York and Grossman placed second in the 200-freestyle relay, posting a time of 2:20.24.

Thompson, Scott, Cambry Jenks and Runyan took third place in the 200-freestyle relay at 2:33.84.
