Members of the Sublette
County girls’ swim team took second place
at the “Last Chance Meet” hosted by Lyman
on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Several members of
the team took advantage of the last chance to
qualify in additional events for the upcoming
State Tournament in Gillette this weekend on
Thursday and Friday, Nov. 7-8.
Senior Kaylee Day added the 200-yard individual
medley and the 100-yard freestyle
to the three events she is already qualified
to swim in at State. Junior Hayden Thoman
qualified in the 200-yard individual medley
at Lyman on Wednesday. Fellow junior
Jennifer Wheeler added two events to chose
from at State – the 200-yard individual medley
and the 1-meter diving event.
Sublette County picked up several firstplace
medals at Lyman. Senior Adalyn Bennett
swept the competition in the 500-yard
freestyle relay. She finished the race in 6
minutes, 30.95 seconds. Junior Emma Rogers
won the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in
at 2:21.29.
Seniors Natalie Hunt, Israel Seemann and
Bennett and Rogers took first in the 400-yard
freestyle relay, edging out the Lyman team
by less than a 10th of a second. Their final
time stood at 4:24.42.

• 200-yard freestyle: Seemann in fifth
place at 2:28.91, Paige Nielson in eighth at
2:34.73, Kinlee Green 11th at 2:39.10 and
Lilly Joseph 12th at 2:50.73.
• 200-yard individual medley: Hunt in second
place at 2:34.17, Day third at 2:38.60,
Jennifer Wheeler fourth at 2:42.45, Thoman
fifth at 2:42.93, Rayne Wheeler sixth at
2:43.14 and Bennett eighth at 3:03.29.
• 50-yard freestyle: Hailey Noble in 10th
place at 30.22 seconds, Julia Lajer 12th at
30.45, Rosie Corlett 14th at 31.36, Rachael
Essington 15th at 31.54, Miriam Avila 17th
at 32.14 and Adriaunna Myers 23rd at 5:44.
• 1-meter diving: Adrianna Ruby in second
place with 167.00 points and Jennifer
Wheeler fourth place with 148.75 points.
• 100-yard freestyle: Hunt in second place
at 1:01.85, Day third at 1:03.63, Noble fifth
at 1:05.53, Rayne Wheeler sixth at 1:06.16,
Nielson seventh at 1:06.89, Autumn Wright
10th at 1:09.25, Lajer 11th at 1:10.59, Green
13th at 1:12.57, Avila 18th at 1:14.61 and
Madelynn Deeds at 1:15.40.
• 500-yard freestyle: Sierra Hattan in
fourth place at 6:49.34 and Corlett fifth place
at 7:00.03.
• 200-yard freestyle relay: Deeds, Ceili
Fallon, Green and Hattan in third place at
2:03.97; Caterina Lione, Nielson, Jennifer
Wheeler and Rayne Wheeler fourth at
2:04.16.
• 100-yard backstroke: Wright in fourth
place at 1:15.46, Ruby eighth at 1:18.30,
Thoman ninth at 1:19.21, Essington 12th at
1:21.46 and Buchanan 13th at 1:24.29.
• 100-yard breaststroke: Fallon in fourth
place at 1:30.30, Lione fifth place at 1:30.67
and Joseph seventh at 1:38.47.
• 400-yard relay: Noble, Rayne Wheeler,
Thoman and Buchanan in third at 4:30.96;
Day, Fallon, Green and Hattan fourth at
4:37.88; Jennifer Wheeler, Lajer, Avila and
Lione sixth at 4:51.20 and Corlett, Wright,
Nielson and Ruby eighth at 4:54.95.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the swim team
will travel to Gillette for the Wyoming Girls’
State Swimming and Diving Championship
Meet. Events start at 2 p.m. on Thursday,
Nov. 7, with 3A preliminaries. Finals for 3A
teams are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday,
Nov. 8.
