ALPINE – Members of Star Valley Health, North Lincoln County Hospital District and elected officials gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Alpine Health Care Facility on May 21.
This new facility, to be situated at the intersection of U.S. Highways 26 and 89, will replace the existing smaller facility along U.S. Highway 89. The new building will be 13,000 square feet with offices for family medicine and urgent care. This includes future expansion plans with offices for orthopedic care and other specialty care, such as pain management.
Dr. Niki Milleson, current Star Valley Health chief of staff and Alpine family physician, served as the event’s keynote speaker.
Star Valley Health Chief Operating Officer Mike Hunsaker said the entire building should be complete in a year and they’ve begun planning a ribbon cutting for May 2022.
Hunsaker has worked closely with the Sublette County Special Hospital District following the board’s decision to make Star Valley Health and North Lincoln County Hospital District its management partner going forward. Hunsaker has said he’s excited for the future of health care in Sublette County, as it resembles health care in Star Valley.
There’s no definitive timetable for when construction is expected to start on the critical access hospital in Sublette County.
