The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 198 calls from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, including six suspicious incidents, nine 911 hang-ups, 18 citizen assists, a fight in progress, 15 livestock problems, two thefts, vandalism, one person threatened, nine traffic complaints, five accidents, 28 urinalyses and 37 vehicle identification number inspections.

Sheriff’s report – Oct. 12

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 198 calls from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, including six suspicious incidents, nine 911 hang-ups, 18 citizen assists, a fight in progress, 15 livestock problems, two thefts, vandalism, one person threatened, nine traffic complaints, five accidents, 28 urinalyses and 37 vehicle identification number inspections.

Oct. 4

At 2:38 a.m., a deputy helped a person who had fallen.

At 7 a.m., a lodging’s fire alarm went off when someone burned toast.

At 8:21 a.m., a detective requested a search warrant in an active investigation.

At 9:08 a.m., a moose calf was trying to cross the highway to its mother.

At 9:24 a.m., a woman’s ex wouldn’t let her get belongings.

At 9:55 a.m., a school resource officer reported a juvenile problem.

At 10:35 a.m., about 80 cows were in the road.

At 11:48 a.m., an insurance investigator looking for information on a climber’s recent death couldn’t reach the county coroner. He was transferred to Fremont County authorities.

At 1:12 p.m., a person had breathing problems.

At 2:05 p.m., a person was having a stroke.

At 2:19 p.m., a driver stopped to cut horns off a dead pronghorn by the road.

At 3:33 p.m., a black Jeep backed into a Toyota 4-Runner.

At 5:06 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

Oct. 5

At 9:54 a.m., a man tried to track down a towed-away vehicle.

At 10:47 a.m., a woman reported a suspicious fraud call.

At 12:04 p.m., a young boy was riding his bike near the highway. A deputy followed the child home to his mother.

At 12:33 p.m., a white GMC Yukon was swerving across the yellow line.

At 1:45 p.m., a detective searched a cell phone.

At 2:01 p.m., a white work van was passing vehicles near the post office.

At 4:50 p.m., a suspicious 911 call had a TV or radio playing in the background.

At 5:35 p.m., a calf was out on Highway 352.

At 5:40 p.m., a person had bad back pains.

At 6:50 p.m., several cows were on a highway.

At 7:28 p.m., two semis were “leapfrogging” on Highway 191 and almost ran a car off the road.

Oct. 6

At 2:04 a.m., a man called from his iWatch saying he was walking down Highway 189 between Daniel and LaBarge and his phone was dead. His friend, who had been drinking, kicked him out of the truck while driving home. A deputy gave him a ride.

At 9:35 a.m., a male inmate was transported to LaBarge.

At 10:57 a.m., Big Piney High School staff reported vandalism to the school resource officer.

At 10:57 a.m., a caller had information for the school resource officer.

At 11 a.m., a woman whose horses got loose was gathering them up.

At 1:25 p.m., a Lincoln County deputy followed up on a case.

At 2:29 p.m., a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper helped a man put four cows back in.

At 2:44 p.m., a vehicle passing in a no-passing zone almost caused a head-on collision.

At 2:56 p.m., a man had questions about an investigation.

At 3:09 p.m., a person had symptoms of a heart attack.

At 4:35 p.m., a caller wanted to confirm a U.S. Census worker’s identity.

At 9:37 p.m., a dark-colored SUV had rolled and no one was around. The driver called the next day to say they hit a cow.

Oct. 7

At 4:17 a.m., Jackson Police Department dispatch asked for assistance with an active investigation.

At 11:36 a.m., a caller complained about backed-up traffic from the vaccine clinic.

At 12:11 p.m., a green Ford Raptor and gray Toyota 4-Runner usually parked at the high school were speeding through town.

At 12:15 p.m., eight or 10 cows were in a barrow ditch.

At 12:29 p.m., dispatch reached a 911 caller who hung up twice; all was well.

At 12:44 p.m., a person might be having a heart attack.

At 1:08 p.m., a suspicious incident was a domestic disturbance.

At 1:15 p.m., a detective searched a cell phone.

At 1:34 p.m., a grocery store employee suspected shoplifting; the person returned and paid.

At 1:40 p.m., the K9 drug dog made a search.

At 2:54 p.m., a caller needed help with a bill sale.

At 5:15 p.m., a man separated from his hiking partner near Cirque of the Towers the day before still hadn’t encountered him. The hiker came out two days later.

At 7:04 p.m., a caller asked if a family made it home safely after a domestic dispute.

At 7:38 p.m., a wide-load semi parked without reflectors partly blocked the road.

At 9:23 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to check on a person’s welfare.

Oct. 8

At 12:18 a.m., WHP asked if a deputy could assist a trooper.

At 9:14 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 9:36 a.m., an illness was reported.

At 11:10 a.m., Department of Family Services asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 1:43 p.m., a business employee said an intoxicated, belligerent customer came in twice; a trooper stopped the person, who was not intoxicated.

At 4:29 p.m., a caller had questions about eviction papers.

At 8:19 p.m., a blue Kia parked in a handicapped parking spot without a permit. The driver was at a soda machine and left.

At 8:30 p.m., a business’s burglar alarm went off; it was a false alarm.

At 11:33 p.m., a caller asked for help with a juvenile problem.

At 11:46 p.m., a man in an old green Chevy was asked to leave before kept returning to a convenience store at 11 p.m. He did not get out. An employee asked him to leave. The driver apparently was on a break from work.

Oct. 9

At 12:39 a.m., a suspicious man in a black hoodie was walking near the fairgrounds. He was just taking a walk; a deputy drove him back to town.

At 5:18 a.m., an accident with juveniles involved is under investigation.

At 6:03 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 9 a.m., a person was unconscious.

At 10:18 a.m., a person went into diabetic shock or coma.

At 10:35 a.m., a store employee asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 12:38 p.m., a man called from Jackson, saying he accidentally left his propane tank open next to his stove.

At 12:42 p.m., a person found a friendly cat but couldn’t find the owner.

At 2:10 p.m., a caller had information for a detective.

At 3:57 p.m., Wyoming Game and Fish had information for an active investigation.

At 5:44 p.m., a suspicious person covered with a blanket was sleeping in the town hall’s doorway. It turned out to be kids watching a movie using the town’s Wi-Fi.

At 5:44 p.m., a deputy went out for a civil standby.

At 9:43 p.m., a woman driving to Jackson hit a deer.

At 10 p.m., the K9 drug dog made a search.

At 11:39 p.m., threats were reported in a juvenile-related call.

At 11:31 p.m., two 911 hang-ups came from a bar where two men were fighting but separated.

At 11:42 p.m., someone sent a tip over the SCSO mobile app about a juvenile investigation.

Oct. 10

At 9:57 a.m., a deputy helped with a civil standby.

At 10:14 a.m., two 911 calls came in about threats; they are under investigation.

At 10:54 a.m., a person was unconscious.

At 11:38 a.m., an abandoned horse and trailer were gone when a deputy arrived.

At 4 p.m., a Dodge RAM was speeding into Boulder.

At 4:07 p.m., a motorcycle was going 70 to 80 mph on Pole Creek Road.

At 5:48 p.m., a man wanted to get back his gun in his son’s car when his son was arrested.

At 7:07 p.m., a man yelled, a dog yelped and suddenly they were silent. A deputy didn’t see or hear anything and cleared the call.
