The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 166 calls from Dec. 19 to Dec. 26. The sheriff’s office will be closed Jan. 3 for New Year’s. It was closed Dec. 23 and Dec. 26 for Christmas. Incidents included at least seven crashes, an assault, 14 citizen assists, 10 motorist assists, four property watches, three fires, one trespassing, 36 urinalyses and 14 vehicle identification number inspections. 

Dec. 19

At 1:17 a.m., an officer helped a Mack truck driver whose plate was covered with mud and salt.

At 8:44 a.m., a woman called for information on an incident she’d reported earlier.

At 10:22 a.m., a man in a Toyota Tundra who backed into a Chevy Silverado was reluctant to report it.

At 11:23 a.m., a woman trying to call out accidentally dialed 911.

At 12:06 p.m., a deputy reported a bond violation.

At 12:14 p.m., a man needed a sheriff’s bill of sale.

At 1:11 p.m., a bartender asked if it was legal for a process server to come into a bar, drink alcohol and then serve civil papers. It was not a deputy and it is not against the law.

At 3:16 p.m., a man came in to get towing bills.

At 8:39 p.m., a person had breathing problems.

At 8:57 p.m., a person was having pre-stroke symptoms.

At 10:28 p.m., a dog left outside with its owner was barking a lot.

Dec. 20

At 5:48 a.m., an abandoned vehicle was reported.

At 11:22 a.m., a woman snowmobiling near Granite Hot Springs accidentally called 911 after her phone went blank.

At 11:43 a.m., a caller saw smoke outside; it was from controlled burn piles not called into the SCSO.

At 1:37 p.m., a 911 call came in with only static on the line.

At 1:40 p.m., Safe2Tell passed along an anonymous text.

At 3:41 p.m., a man reported information to a deputy.

At 4:15 p.m., a woman complained about off-leash dogs coming onto her property.

At 4:26 p.m., a man noticed a car and people at a neighbor’s house who had gone south for the winter. It turned out the owner’s grandson parked his vehicle car there.

At 8:25 p.m., two suspicious vehicles were sitting up the road for more than an hour. The call was transferred to Lincoln County.

At 9:18 p.m., a neighbor being evicted was cranking the music up and down.

At 9:24 p.m., a woman accidentally called 911 and stayed on the line so dispatch wouldn’t think there was a problem.

At 9:51 p.m., a person had abdominal pains.

Dec. 21

At 1:38 a.m., a burgundy cow was beside the road.

At 5 a.m., a half-ton Dodge pickup slid off Highway 191 near Sand Draw and a towtruck might need extra lights from a patrol vehicle.

At 6:38 a.m., a caller reported a trespasser.

At 7:20 a.m., a Dodge Ram slid off the road, crossed the southbound lane and was stuck in a snowbank.

At 8:38 a.m., a man reported someone broke into his back gate.

At 8:41 a.m., a woman said a man failed to register here as a sex offender. It was unfounded; he is registered in Sublette County.

At 9:56 a.m., a man reported being threatened.

At 10:33 a.m., a suspicious incident is under investigation.

At 10:33 a.m., a caller was angry a repo man came onto private property without permission and took a truck that had his topper on it.

At 10:56 a.m., a woman accidentally called 911 while working on a ranch near Daniel.

At 11:19 a.m., a woman in Texas said someone called and told her her father had passed away in Jackson. She was given the number to call Teton County Sheriff’s Office.

At 11:46 a.m., a small red Nissan went off the road.

At 12:02 p.m., a person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 12:14 p.m., the driver of a gold Saturn had their head stuck out of the window after plowing into a snowbank.

At 1:45 p.m., Sublette EMS drew a person’s blood.

At 2:18 p.m., a bank employee accidentally called 911 when the phone’s keypad numbers stuck.

At 2:22 p.m., the driver of a red Toyota was very upset after hitting a grey Toyota.

At 3:44 p.m., a deputy reported a crash.

At 4:22 p.m., a driver said a retired state trooper in a semi passed two vehicles going 80-plus mph in a whiteout.

At 4:36 p.m., a woman met a deputy in the lobby to ask about a protection order.

At 4:39 p.m., a vehicle was stuck in the road.

At 5:31 p.m., an injured buck deer was still alive in the road.

At 5:51 p.m., an armored truck and driver stayed overnight in Pinedale due to road closures.

At 6:48 p.m., a woman called in to report hitting a deer on Pole Creek Road.

At 8:10 p.m., a man checked on a friend driving the long way to Rock Springs who no one had heard from for hours. Sublette County didn’t have any information and passed it on to Sweetwater County SO.

Dec. 22

At 4:49 a.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 1 p.m., a chimney fire caused mostly smoke damage.

At 4:02 p.m., a child accidentally called 911 from a kids’ tablet.

At 4:11 p.m., a fraud was reported.

At 6:09 p.m., a red truck driving north in a southbound lane forced two cars off Highway 191.

At 6:20 p.m., a person was having a heart attack.

At 8:40 p.m., a semi with gelled diesel was trying to get to Pinedale; the driver thought he’d freeze to death if it broke down.

At 9:24 p.m., a brown Suburban’s driver tried to flag down traffic.

At 3:04 a.m., a house was on fire; deputies helped with traffic while firefighters battled flames.

At 9:16 a.m., a woman was arrested on a warrant.

At 10:32 a.m., the Big Piney Library director asked about New Year’s Eve traffic control.

At 12:06 p.m., a person was in diabetic shock or coma.

At 12:31 p.m., a woman had information for an ongoing investigation.

At 1:18 p.m., a woman was angry to find her property was publicly listed.

At 6:09 p.m., a building or possibly an oil rig was on fire.

At 8:39 p.m., someone shot a BB gun at a Direct TV dish.

At 9:18 p.m., a deputy reported a fender-bender.

At 5:35 a.m., a driver fell asleep and went off the road.

At 5:32 p.m., a driver hit and injured a deer.

At 5:40 p.m., a caller asked about a domestic dispute and a protection order.

At 5:49 p.m., a woman picked up a stray cowdog.

At 7:41 p.m., a man was arrested on a warrant.

At 9:04 p.m., someone had breathing problems.

At 1:37 a.m., a semi driver almost hit a baby cow beside the road.
