Shane Nicholas Deal, age 39, passed away following a tragic automobile accident on Jan. 1, 2021.

Shane was born April 14, 1981 to William (Bill) and Cynthia (Cindy) Deal in Lander, Wyo. He was welcomed by his three older sisters, completing the family as the only boy. Shane attended school in Lander, Wyo., and Blanding, Utah, finishing his formal education in Casper, Wyo., where he completed the Diesel Mechanic Program.

He began working in the oil and gas industry in 2003 and spent the majority of his career working in the Jonah Field in Sublette County. Shane’s hard work and leadership resulted in multiple promotions taking him from rig hand to production foreman.

Shane became a proud dad when his daughter, Shanelle Deal, was born in August 2007. He was absolutely smitten with his little brown-eyed girl and loved her with all that he was. On July 22, 2017, Shane married the love of his life, Tammy, at their home in Pinedale, happily expanding his family. Shane was a devoted family man and committed his life to providing for those he loved. He spent every spare moment in the mountains, hunting and fishing, creating memories of adventure and fun. One of his greatest joys was cooking massive campfire breakfasts. Those lucky enough to be treated to his culinary talents truly enjoyed a five-star meal. If you left his camp, or his home, hungry - it was your own fault.

Shane was known for his crushing bear hugs, radiant smile and hearty laugh. He had a knack for making people feel as though they were lifelong friends after just a few minutes together. His unrelenting loyalty to those in his inner circle meant knowing with absolute certainty that he had their back and, no questions asked, Shane was a man who delivered on his promise. There was no one else you wanted in your corner more than Shane. Shane’s generosity knew no bounds and though his presence may have seemed intimidating, he was really a gentle giant who loved fiercely. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Shane is survived by his wife, Tammy; daughter, Shanelle; stepchildren; Taylan Streiff, Troy (Shelbi) Streiff, Krysta Streiff and Addysen Levitt; parents, Bill and Cindy Deal; sisters, Kendra Deal, Shawna (Brent) Berg, and Jolene Deal; maternal grandmother, Sheila Whitlock; grandson, Jack Streiff; nieces and nephews, Morgan Praska, Braden Praska, Jared Markwardt and Landyn Markwardt; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Pete and Anne Deal and maternal grandfather Dick Whitlock.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Pinedale Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the Shane Deal Memorial Fund at First Bank in Pinedale and a Shane Deal Family account has also been established through GoFundMe.
