PINEDALE – The stars aligned for Pinedale High School’s annual prom on Saturday, April 29. This years theme was “Hollywood Red Carpet.”
Prom goers attended the Promenade at the Pinedale Middle School gym followed by a dance at the middle school cafeteria.
The 2023 Prom Royalty included King Dodge Normington and Queen Trista Covill, First Attendants Ana Mika and Bridger Kaiser, Second Attendants Jake Hammer and Ashley Boulter and Third Attendants Anna Lehr and Doug Dexter.
The Pinedale High School junior class, under the auspices of the Student Council, organized the event and led the decorating effort. The Student Council is mentored by English teacher Kendall Brunette.
The project to transform the middle school into a red carpet worthy of the Oscars or Emmy Awards involved a significant investment of energy and time, said Brunette.
“I had a great crew of hardworking juniors who worked tirelessly over the last month to construct elaborate decorations,” Brunette added. “They sacrificed countless hours both in school and after hours helping prepare for the event.”
Brunette also thanked Joan Mitchell for spearheading the “vision behind our theme” and designing the decorations.
“Joan was truly the backbone of this event, and I can’t thank her enough for her guidance, support and generosity,” said Brunette. “We truly couldn’t have done it without Joan.”
Brunette also extended gratitude to parents, particularly Dahlia and Jim Bob Griffin, for going “above and beyond” in helping with set up, decorating and clean up.
“The Griffins were truly generous,” Brunette said. “There were so many people who helped.”
