PINEDALE – The Pinedale High School (PHS) Wrangler and Lady Wrangler basketball teams commenced practice on Monday, Nov. 21, and are gearing up for an exciting winter season.
The PHS basketball program is hosting its second annual Green and White Scrimmage Night to officially kick off the season on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. in the Wrangler Gym.
Admission is free. The basketball teams ask the public to bring a non-perishable food item that will be donated to families in need over Christmas.
Scrimmages will showcase athletes from the girls’ and boys’ varsity, junior varsity and freshmen teams.
Spectators can purchase raffle tickets to enter drawings to participate in games and activities between the scrimmages. Games will include basketball musical chairs and relay races.
Green and White Scrimmage Night will also feature a 50/50 raffle and concessions.
Money raised at the event will be split between the boys’ and girls’ basketball programs to help purchase team gear, basketballs and equipment.
“The Green and White Scrimmage is a great opportunity for players and community members to participate, watch and get excited about the upcoming season,” said Head Boys’ Basketball Coach Marcus Helland. “It’s a perfect family event where parents and kids can come on the court and play some games.”
