He was the youngest of four children. They loved their new baby brother. He was a happy kid and brought so much fun, laughter and love to everyone’s lives.
Throughout school, Bret's teachers reported that he watched out for the underdog. He carried this kind-hearted trait throughout the rest of his life, being friends with everyone and helping anyone he could. He was a social butterfly, kept everyone laughing and loved his friends. Sports were a huge part of his life. He was blessed with an amazing natural athletic ability. He excelled in high school at basketball and football, which he loved. He loved any outdoor sport such as snowmachining, skiing, four wheeling and especially golf. Playing in golf tournaments with his friends was one of his favorite things to do.
He graduated from Big Piney High School in 2007.
After high school, Bret struggled to find his way. He attended a golf academy in San Diego, which was one of his dreams. He lived and worked in Cheyenne for some time for his dad and also worked on the state capitol building. He worked for his brother in the oilfield in Big Piney, did landscaping on a golf course and various other jobs. He had recently moved to Laramie and was so excited to attend the college football games this fall. This is where he spent his last days.
Bret was blessed with a son, Connor Hill, whom he was proud of and loved very much.
He loved spending time in the mountains and fishing along the river. He loved his family and held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. He had such a kind soul and heart of gold. All that knew him loved him. He will be deeply missed.
