Glaciers host 19U Division State Tournament

PINEDALE – The Pinedale Glaciers’ 19U division finished out its season by hosting the State Tournament, Feb. 19-21. Nine teams from across Wyoming and Montana vied for the Wyoming Amateur Hockey League’s championship title at the Sublette County Ice Arena.

Organizers broke the teams into two divisions, with Pinedale placed in the "A" group against Jackson, Gillette, Park County (Cody) and Miles City, Mont.

The Wyoming Amateur Hockey League named its 2021 All-State roster at a ceremony on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Molly Murphy was one of six forward players to receive the honor.

The Glaciers played Jackson on Friday, Feb. 19. Jackson scored the lone goal in the first period and outshot Pinedale, 2-1, in the second period. Cassandra Miller, assisted by Cora Murphy and Reese Noble, put the Glaciers on the scoreboard.

Jackson made another goal in the third period. The final score stood at 4-1 in Jackson’s favor.

On defense, the Glaciers’ goalie Lilliah Tambourine tallied up 50 saves against Jackson.

On Saturday, the Glaciers fell to Miles City, 5-2. The Montana team surged ahead in the first period with a four-point run. Pinedale came back in the second period and outscored their opponent, 2-1. Molly Murphy shot in the first goal off an assist by Cora Murphy. Molly Murphy struck again with the second goal, unassisted.

Tambourine played 24 saves during the match.
