Glaciers 19U girls’ team routs Casper-Douglas

Glaciers 19U girls’ team routs Casper-Douglas

PINEDALE – The Pinedale Glaciers 19U girls’ team dominated the ice in two home games against the Casper-Douglas Oilers on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4.

The action opened with the Glaciers scoring a resounding 9-0 victory over Casper-Douglas on Saturday afternoon. Pulling out all the stops on Sunday morning, the Glaciers trounced the Oilers, 16-0.

Saturday

A determined Pinedale offense outscored the Oilers in the first period, 3-0.

Seren Noble shot the first goal into the net, assisted by Anabella Fausett. Elizabeth Loveless scored next off a play by Noble and Moriah Miller. Noble struck again with a goal assisted by Cassy Miller.

The Glaciers maintained their consistency through the second period, scoring 3 points while holding Casper-Douglas to nil.

Xochi Holland-Gonzalez shot in the first goal for Pinedale with an assist from Loveless and Molly Murphy. Noble scored a goal off a play by Makenzi Reddon and Erica Seehafer. Loveless closed out scoring in the second period with an unassisted goal.

Pinedale once again outpaced its rival, 3-0, in the third period. Fausett scored the first goal unassisted. Murphy followed with a goal, assisted by Loveless. Loveless scored next off a play by Noble.

The Glacier offense kept the puck in the Oilers’ territory for most of the game. On the few occasions Casper-Douglas attempted to score, Pinedale goalie Aringtyn Huffman was ready, tallying 10 saves.

Sunday

The Glaciers overwhelmed Casper-Douglas on Sunday morning. Showing no mercy in the first period, the Pinedale offense scored 7 points while the Oilers remained scoreless.

The Glaciers outscored Casper-Douglas, 2-0, in the second period. Pinedale sealed the deal in the third period with a 7-0 blowout.

Fausett, Lexi Harper and Cassy Miller led scoring with three goals apiece. Loveless and Murphy both scored two goals. Grace Brannon, Moriah Miller and Noble each scored one goal.

Harper led the team in assists with four. Fausett made three assists. Noble, Loveless, Moriah Miller and Holland-Gonzalez each delivered two assists. Brannon and Taya Ramirez-Brannon both made one assist.

A determined Pinedale offense again kept the puck in Casper-Douglas territory for a majority of the game. Huffman stepped up as goalie and caught five saves.

Both the Glaciers 19U girls’ and 18U high school boys’ teams are back in action this weekend. The 19U travel for a rematch against Casper-Douglas on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10, followed by two away games against Laramie on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11.

The 18U team takes on Jackson at away games on Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 10. The 18U hosts Casper at the Sublette County Ice Arena on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 9 a.m.
