Dock, launch improvements underway

PINEDALE – Boat launch and dock work has begun outside of Pinedale.

The Bridger-Teton National Forest’s Pinedale Ranger District announced earlier this week it would conduct improvements at New Fork Lake (Tuesday), Willow Lake (Wednesday) and both Half Moon and Fremont Lakes (Thursday).

In addition to those projects, a concrete slab will be poured at Half Moon Lake on June 1 and there will be a temporary one-day closure at Half Moon Lake on June 8 as the concrete slab is put into place.

Half Moon Lake is getting a new 8-foot by 20-foot dock with a 20-foot gangway. Half Moon Lake will also get a new 12-foot by 10-foot concrete slab poured over the existing slab to improve boat launching activities. Signage will be installed to notify the public.

“The improvement of this ramp will require closing access to the launch for one day,” Pinedale Wilderness Manager Jay Sammer said. “Also, the one parking spot down by the ramp at Half Moon Lake will be inaccessible for about one week while we get things staged.”
