Big Piney woman's drug case moves to District Court

Posted

SUBLETTE COUNTY – The felony meth possession charge against Jimmie Lynn Prather was bound over to 9th District Court on April 27.

Prather, of Big Piney, was charged for having more than 3 grams of meth on Aug, 28, 2020, after a woman she knew was arrested for alleged domestic battery and probation violation, according to court records.

A detective listened to the woman’s phone calls from jail and interviewed her after she asked her sister to have Prather get her purse from her car, according to an affidavit by Detective Karson Turner.

She told him there was meth and a digital scale in a safe at the home she shared with Prather, it says. A search yielded a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and $450 cash; Prather then arrived and told the detective she had moved illegal controlled substances to a home in LaBarge, the affidavit says.

Detectives found a blue waterproof bag with a white crystalline substance that later tested positive as meth, it says. The woman said she and Prather had been distributing meth in Sublette County, the affidavit says.

Prather paid her $5,000 bond and was released.

Her 9th District Court arraignment is set for June 3 at 10 a.m.
