Annual Sunny Korfanta giant slalom results

PINEDALE – Athletes of all ages gathered on the slopes at White Pine Ski Resort for the annual Sunny Korfanta giant slalom race on Sunday, March 12, and the results are in!

Young Emmett Morris won the under-5 age category, posting a time of 60.37 seconds.

Rhian Wood took first place in the under-8 girls’ division, clocking in at 40.05 seconds. Scout Holmes earned second place at 42.67 seconds with Cora Lee Selby in third place at 42.85.

In the under-8 boys’ division, Leif Summers snagged first place with a time of 37.12 seconds. Jake Filkins came in second place at 40.88 seconds, with Hardy Reid Selby in third place at 43.90 seconds. Summers also won the under-8 snowboarding division, timing in at 48.80 seconds.

Meredith Wood captured first place in the girls’ under-10 category, hitting the finish line in 41.57 seconds. Emma Brown secured second place at 43.52 seconds.

Victor Filkins won the boys’ under-10 division at 35.94 seconds. Jasper Snyder took second place at 39.93 seconds.

In the under-12 girls’ division, Baylee Lane punched in first place with a time of 35.24 seconds. Emma Brown took second place at 44.17 seconds with Daisy Early in third place at 45.74 seconds.

Frank Zakotik skied into first place in the boys’ under-12 classification, posting a time of 34.24 seconds. Slater Bell earned second place at 34.31 seconds, with Hudson Thonhoff in third place at 36.47 seconds.

Braxton Hanson scooped up first place in the boys’ under-14 division, clocking in at 38.47 seconds. Joey Brown placed second at 41.69 seconds.

Craig Wood won the under-14 snowboarding category, timing in at 46.80 seconds.

PHS alpine ski team member Aubrey Summers picked up first place in the girls’ high-school classification, posting the fastest overall time for females at 32.59 seconds.

Fellow PHS teammate Dune Mecartney snapped up first place in the boys’ high-school category, clocking in with the fastest overall time for males at 39.54 seconds. Cade Filkins placed second at 39.54 seconds.

In the women’s division, Tara Bolgiano came in first place at 35.40 seconds. Andrea Summers snagged second place at 36.14 seconds with Natasha Morris in third place at 36.86 seconds.

Justin Snyder won the men’s division, timing in at 30.53 seconds. Jesse Early placed second at 31.69 seconds with Jase Morris in third at 32.82 seconds.

Tyler Bell won the adult snowboarding category with a time of 40.07 seconds. Dustin Lindley came in second place at 44.30 seconds, with Arley Anderson in third place at 44.42 seconds.
