Longtime Daniel, Wyoming resident, Alvin Benjamin Pearson Jr. “Ben” passed away at the Sublette Center in Pinedale on Feb. 27. He was 90-years old. Ben was born July 29, 1930, in Sandy, Utah to Alvin Benjamin “Ole” Sr. and Eileen (Pape) Pearson. He was the oldest of three boys. He attended his formal schooling in Big Piney and married his sweetheart Lillian I. “Pat” (Noble) Pearson on Jan. 5, 1951, in Jackson, Wyo. Shortly thereafter Ben was enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War and the beginning of the Cold War. He was released from active duty at the end of 1953. He and Pat settled down and raised their four daughters Cris, Mary, Patty and Teresa on their ranch in Daniel that he worked successfully for 63 ½ years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always quick with a joke and could get along, pretty much, with everyone he’d meet. He was a 65-year member of the Phillips-Edwards American Legion Post 47. He leaves behind many relatives and close friends in the community and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his four daughters Cristina (Rudy) Paravicini, Mary Bluemel, Patricia (J.R.) Johnson and Teresa (John) Shenefelt; grandchildren John (Emily) Paravicini, Toby (Kylie) Bluemel, Ben Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Cindi (Drew) Choal and Joe Shenefelt, and three great-grand-children Riley and Dana Wilson and Shaylee Paravicini. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian “Pat” Pearson, parents Ole and Eileen Pearson, and two brothers Ken and Paul Pearson. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at the Pinedale Bible Church. Military Honors followed the service and he was laid to rest next to his wife in the Pinedale Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Benny’s memory can be made to the Sublette Center P.O. Box 788, Pinedale, Wyo. 82941.
