PINEDALE – Times have been difficult for federal furloughed workers. They went into a third week of being without a paycheck, and for some who live from check to check, money has gone past tight. As the shutdown continued into Wednesday, federal workers who had been furloughed and even employees deemed essential enough to continue working have not received a paycheck in weeks. Though Congress promised to pay workers back after the impasse comes to an end, an IOU from the government does not help bills get paid and some residents were finding themselves in dire straits.
