I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Big Piney High School (BPHS) faculty and staff for, not only teaching, but also displaying excellent sportsmanship to your students. It is a pleasure to watch them have fun in the stands and behave respectably to the visiting team.
Thank you to the BPHS students and fans for showing such pride in your school and teams, win or lose. It is easy to cheer for a winning team. It takes dedication and loyalty to root for a team that is not having the best year. On a side note, I think the “winning” cheering side at the cross-county game is a matter of opinion and depended on what side you were standing on.
Thank you BPHS athletes for ALWAYS performing your best and giving the fans something to be proud of. You have never let us down.
Thank you BPHS cheerleaders for showing grace, poise and dignity when opposing team fans are calling you names and making obscene hand gestures as they walk by. It takes great courage and self-restraint to do the right thing and not retaliate in some form or fashion. You should be as proud of yourselves as we are of you.
Thank you, Kathy, for standing up for your cheerleaders without hesitation. You are a wonderful coach and I am grateful for what you have done with “your girls.” They have come so far in such a short amount of time and they could not have done it without you.
Thank you, Megan, for showing your “true” colors by condoning students to shout disparaging remarks in a packed gymnasium. Your “unbiased” editorial was appreciated.
Regardless of the outcome, cross-county games are a pleasure to watch – not only the actual game, but also the school spirit coming from both sides. Great job fans.
