Former Wyoming resident Wesley R. Wilson, 82, died Jan. 27 in Gilbert, Ariz. Wes was born Dec 30, 1930 in Huntsville, Utah, to Wesley Elmer Wilson and Bessie (Syme) Wilson.
Wes was raised in Utah and started herding sheep at an early age. He eventually raised his own sheep on his ranch in Wyoming, along with his wife Shirley (Flint) and their children. He was also a gifted meat-cutter and did that in one form or another for all of his life. Being blessed with a friendly, outgoing personality made him a fabulous horse-trader, and he could tend bar with equal ability. The thing that Wes liked to do most was shoot the breeze with his friends. He could tell stories for hours, especially if it didn’t matter if they were embellished.
Wesley is survived by his children, Skylar Wilson of Pinedale, Stormy Morrison, Tami Wilder Miller and Lisa McWilliams, all of Gilbert, and Jay Wilson, of Palm Bay, Fla., as well as 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No service will be held at this time.
Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 938, Pinedale, WY 82941.
