Harvey T. Graham, 83, formerly of Big Piney, passed away of natural causes Jan. 18 in Hamilton, Mont.
Harvey was born in Belfry, Mont. June 7, 1929, to Charles Hartman Graham and Alice May (Holden) Graham. He was raised on the far surrounding his fatherís lumberyard and learned the trades of farming and construction.
Harvey earned a degree in secondary education and began teaching English. He moved to Big Piney and taught at the high school there for 47 years. He taught hundreds of student literature and the proper use of the English language (comma rule Ė when in doubt, leave it out).
Harvey married Nancy, a fellow teacher, in 1967 and helped raised two children, Todd and Heidi, and actively volunteered at the Sublette County Fairgrounds for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and one granddaughter.
Harvey is survived by his brother Jerry Graham of Spokane, Wash., sister Alice Kuhar of Colorado Springs, Colo., his wife Nancy Graham of Hamilton, son Todd (Frances) Graham of Churchill, Mont., daughter Heidi (Scott) Kaminski of Darby, Mont. and two granddaughters, Chapin and Parker.
His ashes will be spread above Bridger, Mont., and Middle Piney Creek with a service in Big Piney this summer. For the complete article see the 01-25-2013 issue.
