PINEDALE – The Sublette County Library in Pinedale held an apple pie bake-off in the Lovatt Room last Thursday where bakers presented pies that ranged from traditional with flaky crusts, to crumb topped, to intricately carved apple roses.
With pie crumbs still sticking to their lips, judges Tom Curry, Lars Michnevich and Ross McCracken announced Mary Thompson had taken first place with her traditional, New England-inspired pie. Jay Faler and Coralee Peterson rounded out second and third place, respectively, and Angela Douglas won the people’s heart and the people’s choice award.
