PINEDALE – In a Sublette County Rural Health Care District (RHCD) regular board meeting Wednesday night, CEO Robert Harding’s contract was terminated without stated cause.
The meeting commenced with an announcement that the CEO contract would be on agenda, but the issue didn’t arise until the end of the meeting.
After two closed-door executive sessions – the first lasting approximately one hour – newly sworn-in board member Mandy Norris made the motion to terminate Harding’s contract. Kristin Roork, also new to the board, seconded, and the motion passed with one board member, Dave Racich, opposed.
Harding, who was present, had no discernable reaction. His position, as well as his Idaho residency, was much discussed during the campaign for seats on the RHCD board.
A special meeting of the board is planned for Mon., Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Sublette County Commissioners room in Pinedale. The meeting was called for the purpose of discussing how to cover the duties of CEO in the interim.
The RHCD website defines the CEO as “the leader of all administrative functions of the District, including operations, finance, third party contracting, physician compensation and recruiting, human resources, medical and business information systems and planning and development.”
