In response to Paul Rock’s colorful insert in the May 1st Sublette Examiner, it is incumbent upon me to respond to his sarcastic use of my comment concerning revenue generated by Sublette County. I have made that comment many times. It has nothing to do with whether the county needs three or five commissioners, because the commissioners have no control over the money generated in Sublette County that goes directly to the State of Wyoming.
I do not support Rock’s flyer. Here is what I do support: I support efficient, common sense government, with decisions being made by dedicated local officials, who act in the best interest of the county. I support the right of the people to decide through an election process the number of commissioners the people want.
After watching Rock’s antics to convince the citizens of Sublette County to vote for more government, I am convinced that I need to publicly declare my intention to vote to decrease the membership of the Board of County Commissioners to three, on May 8.
Commissioner Joel Bousman, Boulder
