In the July 16 Pinedale Roundup, I read the pleasing article submitted by Bettina Sparrowe about gardening. Saw the business property of Half Moon Lodge given the Sage & Snow Garden Club garden of beauty award for their flowering lilacs. Gives one a good feeling.
Then I walked past Wells Fargo Bank, and for the third summer looking at the small park where their drive through is I was again disgusted to see the dying lawn full of nothing but weeds and very dry dirt. What a shame. I think it is a slap in the face to the town and residents that Wells Fargo has no civic pride.
The town put in curbs, gutters and black top at their bank entrance, making a much needed improvement. The street was torn up for a long time so water could have been rerun to the little park. I see Wells Fargo can afford to replace their sign that was blown down or torn down but can’t or won’t take care of a tiny lawn. Bark, gravel, lava rock, cement or black top would look better.
Shame on them, again.
Flo Retel, Pinedale
