Get the feds out of education

Posted: Thursday, Oct 24th, 2013

I am responding to the Wyoming Department of Education article on the front page of the Roundup on 10/18.

Since the federal government is not supposed to be involved with schools and their curriculum, they are in violation of the Constitution of the United States. Schools have only gotten worse because the government keeps getting involved. Keep education at a local level and let the teachers teach and move out of the way. I donít like seeing the government, who is so far removed from education, trying to dictate how teachers should teach.

The government needs to step back, way back, and let our teachers teach. Most of the time teachers are spending most of their time filling out reports and charts because of the standards they canít properly teach the students.

So all I say is, government, get out of the way and let our teachers teach.

Thank you for your time,
