The Friday before Mother’s Day has been designated as Childcare Providers Appreciation Day – a day set aside to recognize childcare providers, teachers, school-age program staff, childcare center staff and directors and all others who work with children and are responsible for their care. It is estimated that nearly 11 million children under the age of 5 are cared for by 2.8 million childcare providers in the United States.
The Sublette County Childcare Coalition (SCCC) would like to take a moment to ask all the working moms and dads of Sublette County to take time on May 11 to thank their childcare provider. So often, we are rushing out the door to get to work on time, we drop the kids off knowing that they will be loved and their needs will be taken care of throughout the day. At the end of the day we rush back, grab the child, the diaper bag, the artwork and we are out the door again.
On Providers Appreciation Day, let’s remember our childcare providers, teachers and childcare centers do the most important job of all. Most childcare providers do not receive a benefit package or a 401K. Their benefits come from hugs and kisses, sticky fingers and big smiles as rewards for their tireless work. We in Sublette County are very lucky to have so many licensed, loving, childcare providers. Please take a moment to let them know how much you appreciate them.
