JACKSON HOLE – The Pinedale High School alpine ski team wrapped up its season last weekend as it competed at the Wyoming High School Alpine Ski State Meet at Teton Village at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The meet went well, to say the least, as the varsity girls regained their title as runner-up in the state, while the varsity boys came in fourth place.

“Pinedale represented well this year,” Pinedale coach Hannah Horigan said.

Following two days of stellar performances, seniors Isabelle McLoughlin, Taylor Ruckman and River Dauwen were all named to the All-State second team. McLoughlin was the only athlete this year to earn All-State four consecutive years in a row while in high school.

On the boys’ side, junior Jorell Ballard and senior Wes Hathaway both made the honorable mention All-State team.

The two-day event began with slalom racing on Friday, where the varsity girls picked up second place as a team with 31 points. They finished behind Jackson, who led the way with 66 points.

The strong performances began with Dauwen, who skied solid runs and finished fifth. Ruckman came in just behind in seventh place, while junior Sofia Herjevik placed 14th. Junior Brooke Hornberger had a good day of racing, picking up 24th, while fellow junior Jamie Rellstab finished 25th. McLoughlin had a tough day after losing a ski on her first run.
