George Henry Bohnet, 83, of Black Canyon City, Ariz., passed away March 4 at the Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Ariz. He passed away quickly due to health problems following a back injury.
George was born on Jan. 29, 1930, to Nathaniel and Dora Bohnet in Chasely, N.D. On Sept. 8, he married Mary Louise Footitt. George and Mary were blessed with four children, Gary Lynn Darla Louise, Barbara Jo and Kevin Gene.
George spent most of his life traveling with his family to many different states to work in the oil fields. He also owned and operated a gas station and wood refinishing shop in and around Phoenix, Ariz.
Once George retired, he loved spending time with his family and friends and on occasion would travel to North Dakota or Wyoming to visit with extended family.
Survivors include his children, Gary (Toni) Bohnet of Pinedale, Darla (Jeff) Johnson of Black Canyon City and Barbara Costa of Black Canyon City. George is also survived by two sisters, Marty Haakinson and Emma Westman, and four brothers, Albert, Allan, Jimmy and LeRoy Bohnet, as well as seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
