Deloris Desaire

Deloris Desaire, 89, of Salina, Kan., passed away on Jan. 7. She was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Webster, Kan., the daughter of Byron and Daisy (Hatfield) Bennet, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Donald Fetterolf.
Survivors include four sons, Donald of Loveland, Colo., Richard (Jean) and Martin (Sheri) of Salina and Leland of Hutchinson, Kan.; four daughters, Arlinda (Ken) McLaughlin of Pinedale, Marva Gill of St. Marys, Ohio, Jonetta (Donald) Petty and Karyl Wilson of Salina. Deloris had 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, June Bennet.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, daughter Mary Divilbiss, son Michael, daughter-in-law Nancy Desaire, great-grandson Isaiah Smith and brothers Chester Bennet and John Fetterolf, as well as her parents and stepfather.
Deloris’s great pleasure was spending time with her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. After retirement, Deloris and Leo traveled extensively to visit their out-of-state family. While Arlinda was a teacher at Pinedale Elementary School, Leo and Deloris would visit every August to help her prepare for the school year.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 11 at St. Mary’s Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery in Salina.
