Becky Lynn Borton, 57 of Newcastle passed away June 24 at Weston County Health Services with her family by her side.
Becky was born April 9, 1955 in Newcastle, the daughter of Cledus and Fern (Craig) Highland. She was the oldest of three girls.
On Oct. 19, 1974, she married Bruce Borton, and they made their home in Newcastle. After studying and appreciating precious truths from the bible, she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1982. She valued the hope of the ransom sacrifice that was made available to all meek ones. That moved her to share those truths with her family and many others.
She lived for her children and her grandchildren, even becoming; “Aunt Buck,” “Dappy” and “Grammy” to many. There was no end to her love and generosity.
Preceding her in death was her mother Fern (Craig) Highland and her father Cledus Highland, both of Newcastle.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Borton of Newcastle; daughters, Brandi Rae (Ryan) Mills of Daniel and Seiley Shae (William) Capps of Laramie; her son, Garrett Jet Borton of Newcastle; sisters, Launa (Walt) Christensen of Newcastle and Paula (Mike) Smith of Elko, Nev.; six grandchildren: Cappel and Sylvan Mann, Rugby and Basil Capps and Tyce and Shaye Mills; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Becky were held on June 30, at the Crouch Auditorium in Newcastle. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in memory of Becky has been established. Funds towards her memorial can be sent to the First State Bank of Newcastle, in care of The Becky Borton Memorial, P.O. Box 910, Newcastle, WY 82701. n
