Edna Georgis

Edna Martin Georgis, 88, of Rock Springs passed away on June 23 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Mrs. Georgis passed away following a brief illness.
She was born in Rock Springs on August 15, 1923, the daughter of Martin Jensen and Hanna Dodd Jensen. She grew up on the Martin Jensen Ranch on Muddy Creek, attended school at the one-room Emerson schoolhouse and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1942.
She married Emilio Georgis in Sarasota, Fla. on June 4, 1944. and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1994.
Mrs. Georgis worked in a shipyard in Oakland, Calif. as a document clerk. She was also a housewife and worked at Parker Brothers Drug.
She was an avid gardener, enjoyed flowers, painting and craft activities. She was a resident of the Sublette Center in Pinedale for the past eight years and enjoyed many friends there and at Rendezvous Pointe.
Survivors include one son Leslie E. Georgis and wife Diana of Lakewood, Colo., two grandchildren Mandy Trolinger and husband Steven of Highlands Ranch, Colo, and Tony Georgis and wife Cristin of Denver, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lilly Spann and nine brothers, Clarence, Ted, James Rennard, Glen, Floyd Gladwon, Otto and Lawrence.
Cremation has taken place, and at her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations in her memory be given to the Sublette Center fund for aid to center residents in need.
