Jackie Sea

Edythe Jacquelin “Jackie” Barker Sea, 84, of Pinedale, passed away at her home at the Sublette Center. Jackie was born Jan. 31, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to John T. and Marion L. Barker.
As a child, she and her family moved to Atkins, Iowa and then to Phelps, Wisc., where her father owned a bank. This is where she completed her formal schooling and graduated from high school. After high school, she attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisc. and then business school in Milwaukee, Wisc.
She married her sweetheart Charles Helge Sea June 1, 1947 in Phelps. This union was blessed with four children, Sandra, Susan, Charles and Lisa.
Jackie loved to help others; she was a volunteer at a local hospital in Hinsdale, Ill. for 18 years. She and Charles moved from Illinois to Pinedale in 1984 and built a beautiful home on the bluff. She moved into the Sublette Center in 2005. Jackie enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, reading, crafts and Wii bowling at Rendezvous Pointe. She was a member of the Sage and Snow Garden Club and was an active member of the Pinedale Community United Church of Christ.
Jackie is survived by her children Sandra Harrison of Westhills, Calif.; Charles Sea of Byron, Ill.; Lisa Sea of Rapid City, S.D.; and sister Marion Madsen of Crossville, Tenn. She also left nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren behind
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Helge Sea; daughter Susan McPherson; parents John Tyler Barker and Marion Louisa Hudson Barker; sister Betty J. Helf and brother John C. Barker.
Jackie’s funeral service will be held June 16 at 2 p.m. at the Pinedale Community United Church of Christ, 113 S. Maybell Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the services in the Pinedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Jackie’s memory to Rendezvous Pointe.
