Bruce David Carlson passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2012. He was born June 4, 1959 in Rock Springs to Robert D. and Miriam A. Carlson. Bruce grew up in Pinedale and graduated from Pinedale High School in 1977.
He attended the University of Northern Arizona, majoring in art. After school, he married and moved to Southern California, and to this union two daughters and a son were born. Bruce adored his children and loved being a father, grandfather and an uncle.
In 2002, Bruce returned to Pinedale, the place where he enjoyed skiing and fishing. His devotion to skiing led to his involvement in the Sublette County Ski and Snowboard Association and the creation of many treasured friendships. The many children whom he coached throughout the years held a very special place in his heart. Bruce was happiest while skiing down the slopes of White Pine.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, R.S. and Hazel Carlson, and his maternal grandparents, William and Anna Grinder.
Bruce is survived by his parents and grown children, Tasha Carlson, Nicholas Carlson, Sabrina Carlson and three grandchildren; his brother, Brent, and sister, Colleen; several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bruce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service is planned for this summer at White Pine.
