Addressing the dangers of mercury

BIG PINEY – On Feb. 27, a notice was sent out from Sublette County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Mitchell that around six ounces of elemental mercury had been spilled in an accident in a Big Piney High School storage closet. The original notice stated there had been “no impact to student safety,” which, while true, didn’t stop a precautionary evacuation of the school the next morning.
